Gemma Sheridan was apparently deserted on a desolate island after being shipwrecked, the woman from Liverpool had apparently been stuck on the island for 7 years where she survived through her natural instincts and by learning to hunt, and she had written SOS in big on the island Incase a plane flew past, after 7 years Sheridan had however given up hope and believed nothing was to happen but, a boy playing around on Google Earth saw the message and quickly informed local authorities and she was rescued, they told her on sight that she had Google Earth to thank but she had no idea what it was. Many people however believed that this was a hoax and no man or woman would stay save after staying on a desolate island for 7 years. The story has been going around on Twitter for the past week where we have seen gullible hashtags such as '#thankyoutechonology' and #'truestory'. If it is true it is remarkable how new and digital media can help save lives.
